About

The people you talk to are the people who do the work.

A small, senior-led team in Belgrade. Every project is led by people who have done this before, and you talk to them directly.

Why we exist

Most software projects don't fail on code. They fail on decisions made before anyone wrote any: the wrong scope, the wrong architecture, the wrong idea of what "done" means. We started Software Sage to be the people in the room when those decisions get made, and then to build what was decided.

Boris and Aleksa kept seeing good teams fail on bad decisions: a rewrite nobody needed, a scope nobody could deliver, an architecture picked because it was in fashion. So they built a company where the engineers who help you decide also build what was decided, and have to live with it.

How we're different

  • Some projects stop at the first call

If a project shouldn't happen, or isn't a good fit for us, we say so on the first call.

  • No handoffs

The senior engineer you meet on the first call leads the work and stays your contact. There is no sales team passing you along.

  • Built to be left

Everything we make is meant to be maintained without us. Your repository, your docs, your tests.

  • AI with guardrails

We use AI agents the way you'd want your own team to: scoped access, human review of every change, and your code never used for training. We'll show you the setup on the first call. How we use AI

Where we come from

Our engineers come from product and platform teams at United Airlines, Starr Insurance and a US online lottery platform. Some of that was as employees, some as contractors hired directly to lead strategic platform decisions. When a project calls for it, we still work that way, from inside the client's team.

  • Contracts

We invoice in EUR or USD, with NDAs as standard.
  • In person

Two hours by air from most of Europe. We come to you for kickoffs when it matters.
